Yes, why make a pitch for the media?
Why should you?
With red marks on her neck, Jenny stormed towards me:
"Linda, I have an email from 'a journalist from NU punt nl about parents and parenting! I do want that interview, but what am I going to say! I do want them to mention my company name! But how do I say it in such a way that I don't sound like a slick car salesman? And how do I say it succinctly and powerfully? To-the-point! OMG, Linda! I'm really excited, but HOW DO I PAY THIS?!"
That's why. Your media pitch!
Let's start with the basics: your pitch to the media.
What story do you fire off now when talking to a journalist?
Can you tell your pitch in 10 minutes, 5 or 1 minute?
Or aren't you doing it yet? Because your story is not yet in order.
Or because it doesn't quite feel authentic yet, not quite 'you'?
Or do you not dare to do it yet?
Like Jenny, do you enlist help? Or are you passing up the chance to get in the media, to reach a bigger audience?
Solid growth in brand awareness
What do you think a media pitch, a nice running conversation or - let's go all the way - an inspiring speech will get you & your business?
Yes, indeed... a solid growth in your brand awareness. And so much more, I can tell you. Because I saw it happen to my clients Randall, Femke, Jiry, Janine and Matthijs, to name but a few.
A clear pitch
Let me tell you what a clear pitch does for my clients:
- greater and more stable influx of prospects
- Be able to choose who they work with
- work in flow
- back in love with their company
- Be seen as the expert in the Netherlands & Belgium
- Be asked for great speaking jobs (on various stages, online and live, for entrepreneurs or SMEs)
- Easier to pitch their story elsewhere where needed (network meetings, on radio and TV)
- Becoming attractive to investors
And the all-important result of a powerful pitch.....
Is that my clients BEAL because they feel:
- self-confident
- powerful
- confidently
Wherever they are. With whom. Wherever in the world.
And imagine with that nice smooth-running media pitch of yours... you go one step further:
Hop on stage 🙂 YES!
What if you get to speak in front of a full room of relevant audiences for three quarters of an hour?
What if you make the audience laugh?
Or touching, with a personal anecdote?
What if you inspire that audience with a personal mission, a loving gesture - your core message? So that they start doing things differently, from now on?
Signature Presentation
On 11 and 12 May, I will give the two-day training course 'Signature Presentation'.
Say what!
I prefer to describe a signature presentation as a 'characterful presentation, in which you put your 'signature', so to speak, as a speaker'.
Your signature presentation - SigPres - is a pre-planned, well-rehearsed speech, address or presentation in which you as a speaker stand out from the rest in your market.
The signature presentation is the type of presentation designed to showcase your expertise and skills. Moreover, you include yourself as a 'personal brand' in it. You firmly establish yourself as a personality, as a 'brand', making your speech memorable for the audience. And ideally, by doing so, you are also subtly & positively influencing your audience... 🙂 .
Storytelling part of your pitch
Elements such as storytelling, humour and interactive techniques to engage the audience and keep them enthralled should not be missing. Some keynote speakers choose to add some visuals. I wouldn't opt for this myself.
Picture this:
you're sitting in a small room, your 'idol' comes on and he starts with... a powerpoint.
OMG! I spontaneously get a pull away.
Especially when it's one of those powerpoints with loads of text.
Hopelessly soporific. ZZZzzzZZZZ...
So a speaker like that is immediately 'finished', in my eyes.
Your story with your presence, your full attention to that moment, the audience & your presence on stage, they have to 'do it'. They are leading.
Because a sparkling signature presentation reflects the values, vision and mission of you and your company, with a wink, a bit of humour.
Just a quick note... Why did you read Jenny's story? And scrolled through to this point? Was it the power of storytelling? Your curiosity? Your urge to learn more, to know more? What kind of image did you have of Jenny and me? What kind of feeling did this Jenny situation evoke in you? And do you want to know why I opened this blog the way I did?
OK. Back to the Signature Presentation. YOUR CHANCE at the Signature Presentation.
Positioning yourself
Ideally, your SigPres is tailored to your listeners, showing that you understand their needs and interests. That alone is a token of appreciation to them.
Thanks to the SigPres , speakers position themselves as thought-leaders and No.1 Experts in the market and know how to generate leads and increase their visibility and influence from there .
Does this sound interesting to you?
Then get to work on your Signature Presentation.
Learn from me how to build your distinctive speech, your keynote, your cool talk.
Learn how to 'sell' yourself and your company attractively from the stage. Not a 'sales-y' talk, but a powerful, well-constructed story.
One with a solid foundation in which you get to the core and touch hearts of your audience. And you get the point: in this two-day training, I also go into how you positively influence your audience so that they start making that change that is needed for them.
On stage with confidence
How surprised will you be when you find that standing on a stage and authentically telling your story feels like second nature to you?
And you soon after that Signature Presentation training on 11 and 12 May next, do that super easily and naturally confidently...? :^D
How would that make you feel?
And how different would your life be then, when you find that you come out blazing with confidence in every situation, saying exactly what is needed?
Curious?
