Shallow-minded dudes don't appear in the newspaper, on the radio or on TV.
Really, getting into the news is not for superficial people. I can safely say that.
Because in all the years that I have mentored independent professionals, authors, consultants and experts, I know that they are all very nuanced, think carefully about their thesis and know how to substantiate it. And above all, I encourage them to be themselves. Why?
Be authentic.
Be yourself, there are already so many others. - a much-loved quote by Loesje, which certainly holds true when you want to be in the media.
If you don't, you'll go down in flames.
Entrepreneurs I work with know that I hammer on this. And usually they also have this desire inside, because they realise that their own story is the purest. And that gets you the furthest. Renata, Anne, Aafke, Jiry, Femke, Yolanda, Jitske, Robert, Simone, Machiel and all the other experts I enjoy coaching know this.
We realise that.
Moreover, we all know what depends on it: our own credibility.
Our reputation.
Our name.
And what is that worth to them, me and you?
The trap of a media personality is so made, no matter how long someone has been active and no matter how much someone thinks they can get away with certain things. The media put a magnifying glass on you.
That's why you have to be authentic, as essayist Bas Heijne rightly concluded last Saturday in NRC.
Besides: you need to have a well-substantiated story if you want to get in the newspaper, on TV or on the radio. Your story must have news value. Otherwise, the journalist won't look up or back.
Flimsy opinions and fleetingly made-up stories die, eventually. Just examine it: if an opinion is marginally substantiated, does it hold up? Does such a thing end up in the newspaper at all? No, when the story is not newsworthy, anyway.
What newsworthiness is, and how to make your authentic story available to a wider audience through free publicity, I will explain on Friday 2 July.
And how you then make sure your head is in the newspaper, on the radio or on TV, I will be happy to tell you on the first Friday of July.
Because I’ll be organising an event for a select group – which might include you – namely the ‘GET IN THE NEWS WITH EASE LIVE DAY’, at the Ernst Sillem Hoeve, in compliance with current measures and fully COVID-safe.
Your investment for this isn’t 695 euros, but just 495 euros excluding VAT. As long as tickets are still available, of course. Want to know more? Check it out HERE.:-D
Hope to see you then!
